About Cookiehat Design
I started my freelance design and digital marketing business, Cookiehat Design, in 2012. The “Cookie” part of the name is based on the kind of cookies you get from websites. The “Hat” part of the name is based on the idiom about wearing many hats, because I offer a variety of design and digital marketing services.
About Me
Hello, I’m Katie. I’ve Been Designing For Over 10 Years!
I have a diploma in Multimedia Professional Studies from New Media Campus.
I continuously update my knowledge of graphic design, websites, and marketing by watching webinars and taking online courses at Udemy. I like the flexibility of taking classes online, so I can be more available to my clients.
I volunteer as the Communications Director for my community association. My role includes creating and facilitating content for their community newsletter as well as formatting it and managing the ads. I also manage their Facebook page and groups, as well as the website I designed for them.
I do volunteer work for the church in my community as well. This includes managing the website I designed for them and posting their weekly announcements and worship service videos, as well as video editing, providing music for their worship services, creating an online craft fair website to help them raise money, designing posters for events, and other graphic design projects.
In my spare time I like writing, gardening, doing crafts, playing my musical instruments and sharing my music on my YouTube channel.
My Vision
Helping you establish your online presence.
I am passionate about helping my clients help their customers. I work collaboratively with my clients to create custom professional quality designs to help them connect with current and potential customers and enhance the customer experience. I am always happy to answer questions and offer advice.
I believe design is a process
I prototype and iterate
I design and build
“Katie has produced for us a clean, bright, easy to navigate, informative website.
It tells our story, our past and our present.
The best part, for me, is knowing that Katie is only an email away should we need changes/advice.
Thank you so much, Katie.”
“Katie at Cookiehat Design designed and manages the Montgomery Place Community Association website at www.montgomeryplace.ca
The post Second World War roots of our neighbourhood are reflected in her choice of colour and poppies as a background motif.
The website organization is clear, so that even novice users can find what they are looking for.
Updating monthly reports from the MPCA executive, and regularly adding photographs and articles of interest to Montgomery Place residents, keeps the website fresh and up-to-date.
We are lucky that Katie shares her website expertise and time willingly and generously.”
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value
“We had our logo designed and created by Cookiehat Design. Katie was creative and professional. We love our logo!”
